The Frontier's available first-in-class Utili-track cargo-carrying system features channels on the cargo bed floor, as well as its walls and header. With easy placement anywhere along the Utili-track Channel System, four heavy-duty aluminum-alloy cleats add even more versatility and help lock down the most awkward loads. The Frontier's optional cargo bed lights come in handy on those late nights. At the same time, a cleverly placed tailgate lock keeps cargo secure. With a towing capacity of up to 3,043 kg, the Frontier's 261-HP 4.0-litre DOHC 24-valve V6 engine takes on the largest loads without compromise. Pro-4X editions come standard with a 6-speed manual transmission, all other models come with a 5-speed automatic. Nissan offers the Frontier in both 2x4 and 4x4 drivetrains, as well as King and Crew cab cabins. Excluding the Frontier's base S trim, all 4x4 configurations also come with a switch-operated 2-speed transfer case, Hill Descent Control, and Hill Start Assist (automatic transmission 4x4 only).
